LINCOLN COUNTY MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL
HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN

The Village of Ruidoso is committed to reducing Lincoln County’s natural disaster risks and adapting to climate change. Learn more about our plan updates, initiatives, and progress below.

The Hazard Mitigation Plan, valid through March 17, 2029, covers Lincoln County, including the Village of Ruidoso, the City of Ruidoso Downs, the Town of Carrizozo, the Village of Capitan, the Village of Corona, plus the Claunch Pinto Soil and Water Conservation District. You can access the Hazard Mitigation Plan here for reference. You can access the most recent FEMA Approval Letter here and the Claunch Pinto Soil and Water Conservation District Annex here (pages 2 and 3 of the plan).

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INVOLVEMENT

Lincoln County residents are stakeholders in the Hazard Mitigation planning process. Your input has been a very valuable part of it. In June 2023, a draft of the 2024 Hazard Mitigation Plan was provided for community review and input. Public meetings were held in January and March 2024 for each community to adopt the Hazard Mitigation Plan. The Claunch Pinto Soil and Water Conservation District adopted an Annex to the Hazard Mitigation Plan in September 2024.

If you have questions or comments, please reach out to Eric Queller, Village of Ruidoso Emergency Manager, at EricQueller@ruidoso-nm.gov or 575-973-8963.
