Updated Re-Entry Information for Residents - June 23, 2024 - No Entry and Exclusion Zones
The Village of Ruidoso will allow residents to re-enter on Monday at 8:00 AM, but certain areas remain "NO ENTRY/EXCLUSION ZONES" due to ongoing recovery efforts by USAR teams. Two fatalities are confirmed, with potential additional fatalities identified. Access is only available via HWY 70 East or West; HWY 48 is closed at Gavilan Canyon. The Village of Ruidoso, with the Mayor, Village Council, and County, will begin the re-entry process for local, full-time residents on Monday at 8:00 AM. Second homeowners and tourists are asked to wait. Residents should prepare for possible outages of gas, electricity, and water, and bring a week's worth of groceries and water. Air quality may be poor. LCMC aims to resume full services on Monday. Please cooperate for a smooth process.

Village of Ruidoso makes recycled asphalt available to assist in mitigating flood damage
Following the heavy monsoon precipitation that has caused significant localized flooding, Mayor Crawford issued Executive Order 2022-05 on August 25, 2022, making excess recycled asphalt available to residents and property owners to mitigate the damages caused by the record rainfalls.
ROADS IN THE VILLAGE RE-OPEN AFTER RAINS
RUIDOSO, NM – August 20, 2022 – After receiving a large amount of precipitation yesterday and today which forced several road closures in the Village, crews have removed debris and re-opened Paradise Canyon from Hull Road to Sudderth Drive and Meander Drive to Reese Drive. In addition, Gavilan Canyon Drive has re-opened from Meander Drive to Hull Road along with Warrior Drive.
